The Rookie Run ‘N’ Walk 5K

The Rookie Run ‘N’ Walk is a beginners event designed to take the fear and anxiety out of a typical 5k by offering an untimed event using the same race course as the regular 5K. Buddies will line the course to give you encouragement as you take control of your fear and overcome a great obstacle.

Proceeds will benefit the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. Click here for more information on their programs.

    Kid’s Dash

This is our favorite event! The kid’s dash is very informal so they do not need to register but it gives the kiddos an opportunity to run through the finish line like Mom and Dad. We will have some mascots out there to run and create some excitement as well. Depending on the numbers, we may have to break it down in to age groups for safety reasons.

We have partnered with Event Marketing Services to time this years event using Chronotrack Timing Systems. All 5K and 10K participants will be timed and will receive their disposable timing tag during packet pick up.

    Overall, Masters, 12 and under, 13-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+.

Top 3 Males and Females in all divisions will receive awards. Awards gift certificates courtesy of Dick’s Sporting Goods – South Park and Omega Sports

    Medic/First Aid

There will be a RED medical tent located at the finish line in case of emergency or any medical needs. Announcements can always be made at the DJ booth as well.

There will be TWO water stops for the 10K. The first one is around the 2.1 Mile mark and the second one is around the 4.8 mile mark. There will be ONE water stop for the 5K which will be at about 1.75 miles.

It’s HOT in August, so please be hydrated. We will provide a water bottle at the finish line AFTER the race. DO NOT get a water bottle before the race or there will not be any available to the rest of the runners.
